We are all imperfect. At times most of us have lied. If you are trying to live a good life, your conscience will bother you about having lied. If you are Christian or Jewish, you will remember the Commandment: Thou shalt not bear false witness. In some way you will repent and ask the Almighty for help.

Fyodor Dostoevsky, in his novel The Possessed (also translated as Demons), has one of his characters broach the idea of a “national god.” This national god is different from the Supreme Being:

“If a great nation does not believe that the truth is in it alone (precisely in it alone, and that exclusively), if it does not believe that it alone is able and called to resurrect and save everyone with its truth, then it at once ceases to be a great nation, and at once turns into ethnographic material and not a great nation.”

In this idea of a national god (as distinct from the God of the Bible), the nation is “the body of God. Any nation is a nation only as long as it has its own particular God and rules out all other gods in the world with no conciliation; as long as it believes that through its God it will be victorious and will drive all other gods from the world.”

The American “national god” is not easy to define. Some of its attributes are Darwinism, relativism, faith in “science”, and a deified “humanity” to replace the Supreme Being. This “national god” of America conflicts, however, with Judeo-Christianity: as the Commandment says, “I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have other gods before me.”

An especial conflict between the “national god” and the Almighty is that the “national god” permits not just lies, but encourages a brazen, enormous avalanche of lies. The “national god” demands these lies whenever it is time to “offer sacrifices” (make war). Lately, the “national god” has demanded that the Middle East be re-shaped. All other “gods” (ways of life) are ruled out, with no conciliation. This means, for example, that the regime of Dr. Bashar al-Assad in Syria must be ruled out. And so, the machinery of lies paints a ridiculous caricature of what is happening. And various lies are repeated and repeated, loudly, until most in the United States can’t help but succumb and bow down to the “national god.”

But no one can serve two masters. You cannot serve both the “national god” and the God of the Bible. For this reason, servants of the “national god” have consistently sought to undermine faith in the God of the Bible.

“I summon you to Comradeship in the Red Cross,” Woodrow Wilson is quoted as saying. The year was 1917. Mister Weelson, as John Dos Passos called him, was the U.S. President. The allies, and soon the United States, were fighting “the war that would end all wars.” The world would be made “safe for democracy.”

In 1910, a fund raising campaign for starting Red Cross had got most of its money from J.P. Morgan and a few ultra-wealthy New Yorkers. According to John Foster Dulles, during the First World War New York bankers “viewed the American Red Cross as a virtual arm of government, they envisaged making an incalculable contribution to the winning of the war.” A Red Cross mission to Russia began to be planned on May 29, 1917. Like the “Friends of Syria” aching to feed the hungry, the ostensible reason was “humanitarian purposes.”

The planning for the Red Cross mission to Russia occurred after the February 1917 revolution there, but before the October 1917 Bolshevik coup d’etat. A mysterious person named Raymond Robins was appointed head of the Red Cross mission to Moscow. Robins was the only man whom Vladimir Lenin was always willing to meet with, according to a source cited in G. Edward Griffin’s book, The Creature From Jekyll Island. A raw power over the Communist leaders “was concealed behind the innocent façade of the American Red Cross mission.”

Rami the Clothier, himself disguised as the “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights”, is as usual highly upset. This could be because Rami has only one eye, and cannot see both sides. (I don’t know if Rami has only one eye, but this might explain things.) The “Friends of Syria” will be meeting in Tunisia this Friday. (But someone forgot to invite Syria to the meeting.) Recorded violin music, courtesy of Rami the Clothier, will likely caress the emotions of “Friends of Syria.” And humanitarian assistance is a fine idea, except when it comes disguised as a Trojan Horse. Will something be hiding inside any generous gift waiting outside the walls of Syria?

And why exactly is it called a “Red Cross”? In 1095 Anno Domini Pope Urban II climbed atop a scaffold in Clermont, France. His exhortation was vehement: Jerusalem must be saved! The crowd went wild. “Deus vult, Deus vult!” (“God wills it!) they shouted. Pope Urban II urged the inspired listeners to wear a conspicuous cross, a red, a bloody cross, on their outer garments.

We were assured by the “news” that Muslim Brotherhood and Salafist Islamist al-Nour were not popular in Egypt. After the “Arab Spring” in Egypt, we were not to worry. The moderate Egyptians would replace the government of Hosni Mubarak.

In February 1917, in Russia, they too had a “glorious revolution.” The Bolsheviks were caught napping by the sudden events. In New York City, residing in the pocket of Jacob Schiff, Leon Trotsky packed his bags and hustled off to Moscow to help insert Communist control into the power vacuum. Agents of Lord Alfred Milner, disguised as Red Cross officials on a humanitarian mission, distributed monies to the “revolutionaries.” The October 1917 “Bolshevik revolution was not a spontaneous uprising of the masses. The Bolsheviks, like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, were not especially popular, but they were highly organized. They stepped into the power vacuum left by the February 1917 revolution and took over. We all know the horrible consequences. In Egypt, despite assurances from the “news” that radical Islamists were not popular, the highly organized Muslim Brotherhood and Salafist groups won 72 percent of all available seats in the lower house of Egypt’s parliament, subsequent to “Arab Spring” there. With nary a pause, the “news” then assured us these arriviste Islamists in Egypt were moderate. Forget what the “news” had said before, about them being not popular. The new version of this virtual reality is that Egypt’s arriviste Islamists are moderate.

It is likely, according to an article by Richard Palmer (op. cit.), that the Camp David agreement, basis of peace between Israel and Egypt and of stability in the Middle East, will be cast aside by these moderate Egyptian Islamists. It has been consistently predicted, since 1996, that Egypt will ally with Iran. From this alliance emerges the “King of the South.” This alliance will do battle with the “King of the North” (Europe and the Western powers). Against her will, Russia will reluctantly be dragged into the Final Battle. The armies of the various kings shall meet in the vicinity of where the borders of Syria, Lebanon and Israel intersect, at a place called Har Megiddo, better known as Armageddon.

All those “Arab Spring” countries – Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Syria – once belonged to the Roman Empire. Israel also was once a colony of Rome. The “big picture” is explained in my book, Tales of the Holy Lance, available as a free download.

The Roman author Juvenal described the Rome of his time…

• “Now that no one buys our votes, the public has long since cast off its cares; the people that once bestowed commands, consulships, legions, and all else, now meddles no more and longs eagerly for just two things – Bread and Circuses!”
• “…no deity is held in such reverence amongst us as Wealth; though, as yet, O baneful money, thou hast no temple of thine own…”
• Juvenal reports unprecedented gambling.
• “Male effeminates agree wondrously well among themselves…”
• “Behold! Here you have a man of high birth and wealth being handed over in marriage to a man… ‘a friend is taking to himself a husband; quite a small affair.’ Yes, and if we only live long enough, we shall see these things done openly…”
• The souls of men of power seethe and burn “with secrets that must never be disclosed.”
• Those who are ill are perishing, wrote Juvenal, from want of sleep, “the illness itself having been produced by food lying undigested on a fevered stomach.”
• Spies are everywhere. “…even the sea shores [are] crowded with informers…”
• Meals offered by friends are “scored against you.” This is like the yuppie custom of today, where the friend insists he will pay for the meal. How nice, but it is scored against you.
• “…in the rage for gluttony our own seas have given out.”
• Presence of “she-tyrants.” If you are devoted to one woman (married), “then bow your head and submit your neck ready to bear the yoke.” “Thus does she lord it over her husband.”
• “Who ever sneered at the Gods in the days of old?” (Compare with today’s materialism and “science.”)
• “What avail your pedigrees? [Today’s college diplomas] Though you deck your hall from end to end with ancient waxen images, Virtue is the one and only true nobility.”
• Juvenal notices the “impoverished provincials” (today’s homeless) ”whose very bones you see sucked dry of marrow.”
• “What day is there, however festal, which fails to disclose theft, treachery and fraud: gain made out of every kind of crime, and money won by the dagger or the bowl?… We are living in a ninth age; an age more evil than that of iron – one for whose wickedness Nature herself can find no name, no metal from which to call it.”

How can it be that a mere clothier caused Armageddon? Read on to find out.

Through serendipity, in 1961 Edward Lorenz stumbled upon chaos theory. He had been “running the numbers” and decided to double-check the calculations. Instead of the exact same numbers, Lorenz substituted abbreviations and put them through an early Royal McBee LPG-30 computer. When Lorenz got back vastly different results by merely tweaking the original data – for example 0.506 instead of 0.506127 – he was astonished. Such a little thing as 0.506 instead of 0.506127 could have immense consequences. This became known as the “butterfly effect” when, in 1972, Lorenz presented a paper entitled, “Predictability: Does the Flap of a Butterfly’s Wings in Brazil Set Off a Tornado in Texas?” (Source: “The meteorologist who formulated chaos theory”, The Week magazine, May 2, 2008)

Something called “The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” (SOHR) is frequently cited in the so-called “news” reports. For example, the Associated Press (AP) cited SOHR only last week for a claim that troops and security forces of the Syrian government had opened fire on anti-regime protesters as they left a mosque. But the “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” (SOHR), it turns out, is run by only one person living in a small house in England! This one man, variously called Rami Abdulrahman or Rami Abdelrahman, who would otherwise be running a clothes shop, is the high-falutin’ “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” (SOHR). A mere clothier has been leading the Associated Press around by the nose!

So Rami the Clothier might be a good example of the “butterfly effect.” But hold on. It gets worse.

Will the real SOHR please stand up? There are now two web sites claiming to be the real “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” (SOHR). Each of the two respective SOHRs calls the other an imposter. And yet the Associated Press keeps citing the “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” as if it were a reliable, authoritative source. Of course, the impartial Associated Press and other so-called “news” organizations will tell you that they police themselves. And there is a National Propaganda Radio (NPR) radio show, On the Media (lately lame), which purports to keep an eye on the media. Sed quis custodiet ipsos custodes? (But who will guard the guards themselves? From Juvenal’s Satires)

And so it was that Rami the Clothier became routinely and authoritatively cited by the mainstream news. And their reports, in turn, were believed and influenced the United Nations. This led to the armies of the various kings gathering in the vicinity of where the borders of Israel, Lebanon, and Syria intersect, at a place called Har Megiddo, otherwise called Armageddon.

And that is the story of how a mere clothier caused Armageddon.

In Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel, The Possessed (properly translated however as Demons, according to the latest thinking), there are all sorts of amazing Russian names: Nikolai Vsevolodovich Stavrogin; Pyotr Stepanovich Verkhovensky; Semyon Yegorovich Karmazinov; and many more. It helps to jot little notes on who all these people are. For example: Marya Timofeevna Lebyadkin – lame sister of Ignat Lebyadkin, she is “mad”; and Pavel Pavlovich Gaganov – led around by the nose.

This last, Pavel Pavlovich Gaganov, is an aging general who frequently exclaims, “I will not be led around by the nose!” Then one day, in polite society, the general exclaims this for the umpteenth time and Nikolai Vsevolodovich walks up to him, grabs him by the nose, and leads him around the room!

Of course everyone is shocked and there is a minor scandal about it. But the point is, these Russians are “wild and crazy guys.” There is no telling what they might do! These are, after all, The People Who Ate Cthulhu. 

So, for instance, when the Russians recently vetoed the United Nations resolution to bring caring kindness to the cute, cuddly activists in Syria, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Victoria Nuland her spokesperson, and Susan Rice ambassador were all aghast! They had been used to saying, “We will not be led around by the nose” and then the Russians did precisely that.

This is like the U.S. Presidents (not just the current one) who are always saying, “Let me be perfectly clear.” And then one day Nikolai Vsevolodovich is in the room and interrupts: “No, I won’t let you.”

But the Washington, DC (WDC) government is just filled with love, don’t you see? One of the Wikileaks “Cablegate” files shows this aching love in the hearts of the WDC leaders. In “Bosnia: Women’s Small Grant Proposals” (Feb. 23, 2010) we find one small example of this tender sympathy, this time for the women of Bosnia. The Bosnian women are to be advanced. An academy is to be established to augment the women’s political skills. A recognized, vocal group of women commentators is to be established. Student forums to promote “gender issues” are to be started, “among university students to cultivate Bih’s [Bosnia and Herzegovina’s] next generation of politicians.”

In Syria also, the WDC leaders positively ache to bring in the Western fashions. Too bad the Wikileaks “Cablegate” files do not have the latest dispatches on Syria. (They only go up to 2010.) But maybe a future Wikileak will disclose that the men of Syria are to be wearing seersucker suits and the women of Syria are to be wearing the miniskirts and the sly booties.

The legend of the Seven Sleepers has several versions. “It seems to have travelled to us from the East,” wrote Sabine Baring-Gould in Curious Myths of the Middle Ages. The story is told in the Koran (Surah 18, verses 9-26), according to the Wikipedia reference. 

The People of the Cave are among our wondrous signs. Seven youths took refuge in a cave. There they sleep for a predetermined number of years. You would think that they were awake, when they were in fact asleep. We turned them to the right side and the left side, while their dog stretched his arms in their midst. (Abridged)

William of Malmesbury reportedly tells a strange story about these Seven Sleepers. King Edward the Confessor had a vision where he saw the sleepers. They had been slumbering for two hundred years, lying always on their right sides. Then suddenly, the sleepers turned themselves over onto their left sides. Three Englishmen, a knight, a clerk, and a monk, journeyed to the Cave of the Seven Sleepers to investigate. “And, lo! it fell out even as the king had seen in vision.” It was confirmed by experts that the Seven had ever lain on their right sides, but on the entry of the Englishmen into the cave, they were all found lying on their left sides. “And this was a warning of the miseries which were to befall Christendom through the inroads of the Saracens, Turks, and Tartars. For whenever sorrow threatens, the Sleepers turn on their sides.” (Baring-Gould, op. cit.)

Whenever the Seven Sleepers grow restless, they turn in their sleep. It is a sign of trouble in the Middle East. In Bahrain, the United States supports the regime. Bahrain is the headquarters of the American Navy’s Fifth Fleet. So we do not hear constant news about the outrages committed against the people of Bahrain. Among the most infamous acts of the ruling monarchy is the prosecution of 47 doctors, nurses and medical workers. Their crime? They had treated the wounded.

We do hear constant so-called “news” about Syria, such as “Bashar Assad Shoots Puppy Dogs for Fun” and the like. But why is it that the U.S. impartial news fails to report claims that the cute, cuddly activists in Syria have murdered over 3,000 members of the government security forces? 

The overall picture is, Big Trouble in the Middle East. Coincident to this, a vision has been seen of the Seven Sleepers, restless in their sleep.

In the movie, Apocalypse Now (directed by Francis Ford Coppola), U.S. Army Special Forces Colonel Walter E. Kurtz (Marlon Brando) has “gone rogue.” Col. Kurtz has departed from the chain of command and runs his own independent legion of Montagnard troops, deep in the jungles of Cambodia.

Like Colonel Walter E. Kurtz, Osama bin Laden also “went rogue”; in his case he departed from the Al Qaeda chain of command around the time of the First Gulf War (circa 1990).

In Coppola’s movie, U.S. Army Captain Benjamin L. Willard (Martin Sheen) is sent on a mission to find Col. Kurtz and assassinate him. A PT boat and its crew carry Capt. Willard deep into Cambodia. More than a PT boat was sent to Afghanistan consequent to the surreal events of September 11, 2001 (“9/11”). To hunt down and kill Osama bin Laden required not just an Army Captain and a PT boat but a massive deployment of troops and naval vessels.

Al Qaeda first emerged around 1979. It came from Saudi Arabia, with love. During the First Gulf War, when U.S. troops were stationed on the “sacred ground” of Saudi Arabia, Osama bin Laden had a “crisis of conscience.” Bin Laden and Al Qaeda had been working with the United States; they had been “on the reservation.” But when bin Laden saw forces of the “Great Satan” stationed in Saudi Arabia, he wandered “off the reservation.” Osama bin Laden had gone rogue.

But meanwhile, the original Al Qaeda stayed under Saudi control, and is ultimately amenable to U.S. control. Al Qaeda publishes an English-language magazine called “Inspire.” In late September of 2011, the dreaded covert theatrical group reportedly issued a stern message in its magazine: Stop spreading the 9/11 conspiracy theories. But Iran, no friend of the Saudis, fired back after the “Inspire” magazine advised Muslims to disregard 9/11 “conspiracy theories.” The true authors of the “Inspire” magazine, claimed Iran, are not radical Muslims “but secret agents for the CIA.” (“Source: Iran Fires Back at Al Qaeda With Another CIA Conspiracy”, by Lee Ferran. The Al Qaeda “Inspire” magazine being secretly written by CIA? This puts a new light upon this week’s Al Qaeda endorsement of the U.S. State Department’s wish to oust from power Syria’s leader, Dr. Bashar Assad. In a video released late on Feb. 11, 2012, the Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri urged Muslims to support the warm, cuddly “activists” in Syria. Al Qaeda’s official “Inspire” magazine also reportedly claims that Osama bin Laden fought back in a “vicious battle” with the U.S. Navy Seals sent, like Captain Willard, to eliminate the rogue officer. But what were Osama bin Laden’s last words? Possibly he said as he died, “The horror… The horror…”

Like the fabled Prester John, an Asian monarch eager to help the Crusaders, comes Al Qaeda, eager to help Hillary Clinton in her knightly quest to topple the government of Dr. Bashar Assad. The leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahri, has now openly called for the overthrow of the Assad government in Syria.

In both cases, that of Prester John and of al-Zawahri, there is a strangeness involved: Why would leaders in a Muslim region offer to help the Crusaders?

In the case of Prester John, he was said to be a vaguely Christian king and so that would explain the offer of help. But why would the leader of Al Qaeda, notorious anti-Western terrorists, decide to assist the Crusaders?

In 1979, Osama bin Laden of Saudi Arabia was recruited by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to oversee financial aspects of native Afghan resistance to the then Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Holding a college diploma in management and economics, bin Laden managed payments, cash transfers, and monetary legerdemain for one of the CIA’s most expensive operations. Assisting bin Laden to juggle the books was what author Thierry Meyssan calls a “computer file” but which may have in fact been the legendary purloined PROMIS software. Computer “file” or computer software, it was called “Al Qaeda,” which translates as “the database.”

In 1959, an ultra-secret spy plane, the U2, flew at such a great altitude it could penetrate Soviet airspace without apparent fear of being shot down. Onboard the plane was the latest photo technology, allowing the pilot to take detailed photographs of the ground way below. At a signals intelligence (sigint) station at Atsugi, Japan, 17-year-old Marine Corps private Lee Harvey Oswald was a well-trained functionary. The Soviet KGB was eager to learn all it could about the U2. But the Americans plotted to outsmart the KGB: through use of the MK-Ultra mind altering technique, a separate “compartment” was established in the mind of Lee Harvey Oswald. The name given to Oswald’s alter-ego was Alek James Hidell. Oswald subsequently “defected” to the Soviet Union and gave them disinformation about the U2 when interrogated. Subjected to truth serum and advanced psychological probing, Oswald did not “crack.” He was impervious to attempts to determine if he might be a double agent. Both Lee Harvey Oswald and Osama bin Laden had deep connections with U.S. intelligence. In the case of bin Laden, he originally came to us from Saudi Arabia, with love. Saudi Arabia is also the place where many of the box-cutter knife wielding zombies of September 11, 2001 (“9/11”) obtained their U.S. visas. Al Qaeda had been first our friend, fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. Then Al Qaeda became our enemy. But now, notices journalist and author Afshin Rattansi, in an interview with Russia Today, Al Qaeda is present in Syria and an alliance between the West and the terrorists could be a de facto reality. While attention is diverted by relative trifles, such as the surprise death of Whitney Houston, a Stuka dive bomber propaganda attack is being prepared. Bashar Assad in Cahoots with Cthulhu! Secret Vampire Cult of Bashar Assad! Did Bashar Assad Kill JFK? News at 10, and whenever it “breaks”.

So you cannot rest easy, knowing that at any time the “news” loudspeakers might unleash their Stuka propaganda bombers.

The real situation in Syria is not being told by the “news” fakers. The Iran-Contra affair of the 1980s also was inadequately covered. Lord of War had been selling weapons to Iran. The money from those weapons sales was meant to fund a secret war backed in spite of the Boland Amendment in Nicaragua. The Nicaraguan “Contras” were called the “freedom fighters.” Ronald Reagan said, “I am a Contra,” meaning he was on the side of the “freedom fighters.”

As with the U.S.-backed secret war in Nicaragua, again in Syria we back the “freedom fighters” determined to oust Dr. Bashar Assad and his government. This is to be replaced by the government of Woodstock Nation, where all is peace and love. “From now on, it’s a free concert!” will proclaim Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “Thank you, and you have all been complicit in this!”

Hillary Clinton had earlier helped bring “Woodstock Nation” to Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt. Now those happy people are all sitting around the campfires, smiling and singing “Kumbaya.”

The secret war in Syria is called by DEBKAfile “a Western-Arab undercover exercise.” But as of February 11, 2012, DEBKAfile reports that Bashar Assad and his government have mostly subdued the “freedom fighters.” The “street cred” of Hillary Clinton is on the line! The State Department had boasted Assad and his government would be gone in three months. That meant by late April 2012 if Assad was not gone then Hillary Clinton would “lose face” in the ‘hood.

In this context of Hillary Clinton about to lose “street cred” in the ‘hood, two cars packed with explosives and driven by suicide bombers attacked in Aleppo. It was a tactic of desperation! The warm, cuddly “activists” had been changed into “freedom fighters” and then finally into suicide bombers. This was not good for the “Woodstock Nation” propaganda imagery. Preliminary lies about rocket-propelled grenades did not withstand scrutiny. How could the glamour of the warm, cuddly “activists” be maintained?

In the nick of time came Al Qaeda, who strangely announced that the government of Dr. Bashar Assad must be overthrown. Ah-hah! It must have been Al Qaeda who caused the outrage in Aleppo.
