Our Friend, The Ether (Part 17)

THE HINDENBURG (Theatrical Trailer)

The floating turtle of Vicksburg is not the only example of “strange things seen in the sky.” (Background: Our Friend, The Ether (Part 16), Ersjdamoo’s Blog entry of November 11, 2013.)

A movie from 1975, The Hindenburg (directed by Robert Wise), depicts a conspiracy leading to the destruction of the airship. The LZ-129 Hindenburg caught fire and perished on May 6, 1937 near Lakehurst, New Jersey. This is the event where an anguished radio broadcaster at the scene exclaims, “Oh, the humanity!”

In the movie, while over the Atlantic Ocean, the Hindenburg passes through some fog and experiences the effect called “St. Elmo’s Fire.” St. Elmo’s fire is described as a weather phenomenon in which luminous plasma is created by a coronal discharge from a sharp or pointed object in a strong electric field in the atmosphere. [1] It is explained in the movie that passing through the fog had built up “static electricity” like “walking on a carpet” and the subsequent discharge was only St. Elmo’s fire. This, on a far greater scale, happens to the earth as it travels constantly at about 67,000 mph through the omnipresent Ether. The Ether, extremely rarefied yet also dense, contains both positive and negative electric potential. These electric charges are deposited on atoms. It is the motion of matter through the stationary Ether which constantly provides electric energy. The gravitational force, in turn, is induced when the planets are oscillated by electrical currents. (Background: Our Friend, The Ether (Part 14), Ersjdamoo’s Blog entry of November 7, 2013.)

The Hindenburg was a cigar-shaped flying object. Cigar-shaped UFOs look like a rolled-up cigar, as their name suggests. Their aspect is solid and metallic, often with windows on their sides, as in a commercial airliner, but without wings or a rudder. [2] Charles Fort (1874 – 1932) mentions, among other things, such “torpedo-shaped” flying objects, in his first major work, The Book of the Damned:

  • In 1883 a correspondent wrote to Scientific American magazine about having seen, at Sulphur Springs, Ohio, a “wonder in the sky” which was “torpedo-shaped.”
  • In 1882, at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, E.W. Maunder claimed to have seen “a strange celestial visitor.” In the midst of an aurora, something passed above the moon. Various observers described it as “cigar-shaped”, “like a torpedo”, and “a spindle.” Notably, in light of The Hindenburg, Maunder later stated, “Had the incident occurred a third of a century later, beyond doubt everyone would have selected the same simile – it would have been ‘just like a Zeppelin.'”
  • Charles Fort offered his own surmise as to the cigar-shaped flying objects: Perhaps super-geographical routes are traversed by torpedo-shaped super-constructions that have occasionally visited, or that have occasionally been driven into this earth’s atmosphere.

The cigar-shaped UFO looked “just like a Zeppelin.” Besides the LZ-129 Hindenburg, three other Zeppelins of note were…

  • LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin. Named after the German pioneer of airships, Ferdinand von Zeppelin, who was a Graf or Count in the German nobility. The LZ-127 operated commercially from 1928 to 1937. Due partly to the Hindenburg crash and partly to difficulties obtaining helium as a replacement gas for hydrogen, the LZ-127 made its last flight one month after the Hindenburg crash. [3]
  • LZ-130 Graf Zeppelin II. This airship made just 30 flights over 11 months in 1938-39 before being scrapped in 1940. [4]
  • LZ-131. Designed to be even larger than Hindenburg and Graf Zeppelin II. The LZ-131 supposedly never progressed beyond the production of some single skeleton rings. [5]

It is with this last Zeppelin, the LZ-131, that there may be some mystery. One author offers informed speculation that the LZ-131 was not in fact abandoned. [6]

Recall that a split between pro-Ether and anti-Ether physicists began in Germany circa 1910. Before too long, a “German physics” – distinct from the other physics – arose. The “German physics” was pro-Ether, contrary to the physics of Albert Einstein which had (temporarily) abandoned The Ether. (Background: Our Friend, The Ether (Part 12), Ersjdamoo’s Blog entry of November 4, 2013.)

Between the 1920s and 1940s, Germany’s physics became further isolated from the mainstream and went off into secret directions. Author William Lyne theorizes that the Zeppelin program was not abandoned in 1940 and that incredibly advanced models – “super aircraft carriers” – were produced. At least one of these had stainless steel hulls 11 inches thick and the LZ-131 may have been powered by a “helium reactor.” Involved also was a “hermetically sealed” living environment and “gravitational-to-electromagnetic force conversion.” [6]

The LZ-131 may have been sighted off the Straits of Madagascar on June 30, 1947. And was that again the LZ-131 sighted in 1962 at Hampton, Virginia? [6]

In my book, Tales of the Holy Lance, I explore reports that Adolph Hitler and his lover Eva Braun may have been smuggled out of Berlin in the final days of the Third Reich. Oberführer Josef Spacil, Hitler’s paymaster, insisted that Hitler had not committed suicide. Instead, Hitler and Braun were evacuated in a small plane piloted by Luftwaffe general Robert Ritter von Greim and test pilot Hanna Reitsch. [7]

William Lyne goes “one step beyond” with this scenario. Lyne theorizes that test pilot Hanna Reitsch (and “Colonel Hans Ulrich Rudel”) flew not a “small plane” but a flying saucer for the Hitler/Braun rescue! The despicable duo were possibly flown to a nearby Graf Zeppelin! [6]

Lyne is not theorizing but quite definite when he insists he had seen Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun in San Antonio, Texas, in 1967. The two had reportedly been invited there by President Lyndon Johnson. [6]
