Do not be fooled by the “conceptual straitjacket” of Capitalism versus Communism. On the deepest level there is a partnership between international monopoly capitalism and international revolutionary socialism. (Remember, for example, the recent bailout of Wall Street – socialism in action.)
The true Russian Revolution of February 1917 was betrayed. In 1917 the United States could have used its influence for freedom in Russia; instead it acquiesced to the wishes of a few, powerful Wall Street financiers.
Leon Trotsky and his family arrived in New York City on January 13, 1917. In New York, the “impoverished” Trotsky was driven around in a chauffeured limousine. In April 1917, in Halifax, Canadian authorities found Trotsky carrying $10,000 (a lot more than $10,000 in today’s money). To return to Russia and overthrow the February Revolution, Trotsky needed a passport. The passport was personally provided to Trotsky by President Woodrow Wilson.
The S.S. Kristianiafjord left New York on March 26, 1917. Onboard were Leon Trotsky, fellow Trotskyites, Wall Street financiers, American Communists, and who knows what else. Lincoln Steffens described conversations onboard the ship: “… all agreed that the revolution is in its first phase only…” All agreed there would be a “re-revolution.”
Charles Crane, friend of Woodrow Wilson as well as a prominent financier, traveled to Russia ahead of the October 1917 Bolshevik putsch accompanied by Lincoln Steffens. Trotsky had a special passport from Wilson as well as $10,000. Enroute to their destination, they stopped at Halifax, Nova Scotia. There, Canadian and British naval personnel removed Trotsky from the ship. He was eventually released.
During the Stalinist show trials of the 1930s, and especially the 1938 trial of “rightests and Trotskyites”, the Trotskyites were accused of being paid agents of international capitalism. Admitted one of the defendants, “We were the vanguard of foreign aggression, of international fascism, and not only in the USSR but also in Spain, China, throughout the world.” (Admittedly the show trials are of dubious authenticity.)
Leon Trotsky had a cousin, Abram Givatovzo, who was a private banker in Kiev. Givatovzo helped the Soviets with currency transactions in 1918. All these people – Trotsky, Charles Crane, Lincoln Steffens, and others – seemed to have a mysterious higher allegiance to some cause other than that which they espoused.
W. Cleon Skousen described how Dr. Bella Todd of the U.S. Communist Party had once told him, “I think the Communist conspiracy is merely a branch of a much bigger conspiracy.” After World War II, Dr. Todd became aware of a mysterious super-leadership which ranked above that of the Communist International. Her emergency contact instructions for any time she might be unable to reach her normal superiors were three men at the Waldorf Towers. These three men, Dr. Todd was surprised to discover, were not Communists but extremely wealthy American Capitalists!
Update now to Kiev, December 2013 through April 2014. Again, as in 1917, we have mysterious comings-and-goings. We have John “Kung-Fu” McCain seen on stage with Oleh Tyahnybok, accused anti-Semite and neo-Nazi. We have Victoria “Nurse Ratched” Nuland seen passing out cookies to revolutionary forces. We have master of disguise John Brennan attempting to sneak into Kiev. We have Joe Biden flying in for secret discussions.
What was it all about? Why had such staid persons seemingly turned into rabid revolutionaries? A clue to the secret dealings may have been given by Paul Joseph Watson on March 3, 2014. In “Deep state agenda behind Ukraine conflict revealed”, Watson, writing for PrisonPlanet.com, guessed that a wish to implement “fracking” in Ukraine may be involved. Russia has been selling gas to Ukraine, but US-based multinational oil and gas firms may be wanting to encroach upon Russia’s turf. An “imminent threat” of Ukrainian shale gas development could be behind now-bitter divisions between Moscow and the West.
