Lies Creeping Back In

They’re back. The lies are creeping back in. The Lie Machine seemed to be having some downtime for the past month or so and at last Ersjdamoo could kick back and just read some elevating books. But what, did they think Ersjdamoo had retired? “The coast is clear. Ersjdamoo is gone. Turn on the Lie Machine,” ordered Supreme Leader at the Lies HQ.

The Lie Machine began to say, “At last full employment is near. Janet Yellen at the ‘Federal’ Reserve can start raising rates.” Yet Ersjdamoo looked around for all the new jobs where he lives and could find none.

Then a rare thing, an honest report was found. Jim Clifton, Chairman and CEO at Gallup, actually called it what it was: A Big Lie. “The Big Lie: 5.6% Unemployment” is the title of Clifton’s February 3, 2015 report. “There’s no other way to say this. The official unemployment rate, which cruelly overlooks the suffering of the long-term and often permanently unemployed as well as the depressingly underemployed, amounts to a Big Lie,” wrote Clifton, who carefully explained the true situation.

The lively Erin Ade, on her BoomBust financial show (co-hosted by Ed Harrison), seemed weary. No wonder! She had been interviewing a bunch of puff-daddy professors. Those bloated pontificators were all inserting casual mention of “at last, the end of unemployment” in their soothsayings. And Erin Ade never challenged them on this! What, has she gone into hibernation!? Come on, Erin! Wake up! Don’t let these professors put you to sleep!

In tandem with the “Happy Days Are Here Again” big lie is another lie creeping in: The lie that ending extended unemployment coverage has forced people to go get jobs. “Those lazy loafers,” says the Lie Machine, “they lose their coverage and – aha! – they go out and get jobs.” What really happens is that those people are just no longer counted as unemployed and the statistics on employment improve.

The Russia Today network seemed tired out this week. Besides Erin Ade, another presenter on RT, Anissa Naouai, limped in to her weekly close on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Anissa Naouai’s show, In The Now, airs on RT at 11 am Central Time, apparently Monday through Thursday. The Russians sometimes give us the Moscow Time schedule for Naouai’s show, as if we are all living in Moscow! It must be that the Russian bear has gone into hibernation and the RT staff is sleepwalking through their broadcasts lately. But what if you poke the bear and wake it up? What then?

Usually Anissa Naouai is great fun to watch because she pays special notice to the world of John McCain, the Arizona senator. As ascertained by Ersjdamoo, John McCain is the son of Danny Caine, half-brother of one Kwai Chang Caine, a Buddhist monk known for his martial arts skills. Like his uncle Kwai Chang Caine, John McCain is a dangerous person to cross. McCain seeks vengeance against Russia, which land he blames for his years of suffering as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam. “My vengeance shall be sevenfold,” the Arizona senator has been heard to mutter under his breath, recalling the tale of the Biblical Cain. (Background: Sevenfold Vengeance of John McCain, Ersjdamoo’s Blog, January 30, 2014.)

“Oh why don’t you just go away?” suggested one recent communiqué received at Ersjdamoo’s Blog. And I would like to do just that and kick back with some good books. But then the Lies start creeping in and I get irked. How about a truce? Turn off the Lie Machine and I won’t get irked. Offering up Brian Williams as a blood sacrifice to pagan gods will not atone for the sins of the Lie Machine. Instead, just turn off the damn lies. The Lie Machine keeps disturbing the peace, not me.
