In 2007, the CIA released a batch of documents known as the Family Jewels. Sifting through the disorganized declassified documents, Philippe Mora, reporting for the Sydney Morning Herald, discerned how the CIA, back around 1950, had been more worried about an alien invasion than the threat of a Soviet nuclear attack! This was over 60 years ago. Where are things now? Kyle Odom perceived disguised Martians living amongst us.
Thus reads the description for my latest video, “CIA Unleashes ‘Plan 9′”, published to YouTube on April 25, 2016. The clip, which clocks in at 10 minutes and 12 seconds, can hopefully be viewed at the top of today’s blog entry.
The batch of declassified CIA documents released in 2007 were informally known as the “Family Jewels.” William Colby, who was the CIA director in the mid-1970s and helped in the compilation of the reports, dubbed them the “skeletons” in the CIA’s closet. Most of the documents were publicly released on June 25, 2007, after more than three decades of secrecy. This had been done in response to a Freedom Of Information Act request filed fifteen years earlier.
The released CIA documents detailed Cold War assassination plots, kidnappings, and “behavior modification experiments” (mind control).
As often happens in these declassified releases, there was a lot of redaction, i.e., heavy black lines drawn over words. One cable from 1976 was redacted into a lone sentence: “23 Sept XXXXXXXXXX with personal request to investigate UFO sighted Morocco.”
Philippe Mora, reporting for the Sydney Morning Herald, slowly sifted through the disorganized release of documents. On November 3rd, 2007, one of her reports called itself, “Plan 9 from outer space.”
The CIA documents “show that despite decades of repeated public denials, behind the scenes there raged a series of inter-agency feuds that involved the highest levels of the US government,” it was reported. The declassified CIA documents revealed that “the remote possibility of alien invasion elicited greater fear than the threat of a Soviet nuclear attack.” (But that is ambiguously reported. Fear among whom? Among the CIA, or among the general public?)
The UFO question, as it turns out, had been the focus of attention not just for the US government elite for 50 years, but for some of the greatest scientific and military minds of the era. The “wildly eclectic UFO files” released by the CIA covered everything from “flying saucers over Belgian Congo uranium mines” to Nazi “flying saucers”, it was reported. One declassified memo from 1953 showed physicist John Wheeler, associate of Edward Teller, being available for the “CIA attack on the flying saucer” problem. Wheeler recommended looking into the “mysterious problems of ion paths and magnetic focusing” and “cosmological electrodynamics”.
Some believe, it was reported in the Sydney Morning Herald, that a top-secret entity, called Majestic-12, was formed in 1947 by the then president, Harry Truman, in an attempt to deal with a strange event near Roswell, New Mexico. But the declassified CIA files reveal them to have been far more interested in a June 24, 1947, report from the pilot Kenneth Arnold, who spotted nine unidentified objects near Mount Rainier, Washington state. Within the CIA, there had been an uber-intelligence group called ONE, created by then-CIA director, General William Bedell Smith. “ONE is as close as we get to a documented version of the rumoured Majestic-12 group,” reported Philippe Mora. General Smith’s tenure spanned the period between October 1950 and January 1953. The CIA documents confirm that ONE was concerned with UFOs.
Enter Kyle Odom. He perceived disguised Martians living amongst us, and is now being slowly transfered back to Couer d’Alene, Idaho. It has a lot to do with electricity, writes Odom in the 46-page unredacted version of his manuscript. Our brains operate over a wide range of electrical frequencies. What we experience is the result of electrical activity. This is how the Martians are able to “directly alter our perception,” writes Odom. The Martians trick our brain into visual and auditory hallucinations. This may be how the Martians are able to disguise themselves while living amongst us.
