History Of Them Years

Some forgotten news items from about 10 years ago, beginning in 2006, are here covered.

Thus reads the description for my latest video, “History Of Them Years”, published to YouTube on August 13, 2016. The clip, which clocks in at 10 minutes and 19 seconds, can hopefully be viewed at the top of today’s blog entry.

Someone under the name “Lionel Nation” publishes recommended webcasts to YouTube. In one of Lionel’s videos, he stated that the American public has the attention span of a gnat. Pondering this, I thought it worthwhile to recall some past news items, beginning about 10 years ago.

Back in August 2006, a terror attack of enormous scope seemed to have been thwarted. Paul Haven of the Associated Press reported on August 10, 2006 (“Analysis: Was this meant as next 9/11?”) that, “Its scope was ruthlessly ambitious, causing destruction officials say would have been ‘unimaginable.'” It “may have been ‘the Big One’ [officials] have been dreading since Sept. 11, 2001.”

“Vault believers want new dig” reported The Virginia Gazette, on or about August 20, 2006. A supposed Bruton Parish vault in Williamsburg, Virginia was believed to contain clues about Francis Bacon, and the Skull & Bones Society and the Rockefellers were allegedly trying to prevent investigation. In the theory of some, the vault contains the original King James translation of the Bible, original versions of William Shakespeare’s plays (which many believe Bacon and a circle of associates actually wrote) and “Christian Hermetic-Cabalistic mystery teachings.” It is alleged that these treasures were moved from England to Jamestown to Williamsburg.

Osama bin Laden is still “deadly relevant”, reported Christiane Amanpour for CNN. Michael Scheuer, who once headed the CIA’s bin Laden unit, says bin Laden has been given permission by a young cleric in Saudi Arabia authorizing al Qaeda to “use nuclear weapons against the United States … capping the casualties at 10 million.” Thus reported Amanpour on August 22, 2006.

On September 13, 2006 Wayne Madsen accused Bernie Sanders of being one of the “left gatekeepers.” Craig Hill, the Green candidate for the U.S. Senate from Vermont was challenging one “left gatekeeper,” Independent “Socialist” Bernie Sanders “who is running for the Senate”, reported Madsen. “Hill contends that Saunders [sic] is a left gatekeeper who will not investigate 911 further and endorsed a future U.S. military attack on Iran.”

In May 2007 it had been two weeks since CBS Radio fired Don Imus for his alleged “racially and sexually demeaning remarks about the Rutgers women’s basketball team”, reported Jacques Steinberg for the New York Times on May 6, 2007.

If you use a cell phone you could be at serious risk for debilitating and life threatening illness, reported the Preventive Psychiatry E-Newsletter #66. “Neither radiofrequency (30kHz-300MHz) nor microwave fields (300-3000 MHz) exist as significant components of the natural terrestrial electromagnetic environment. In consequence, our human generation is the first to voluntarily expose itself to artificial RF/microwave fields that cover a wide spectrum of frequencies and intensities,” reported the newsletter. (Published to Rense.com on May 6, 2007.)

There is “a growing body of evidence” reported The Economist on May 10, 2007, “that the Earth’s magnetic field is about to disappear, at least for a while. The geological record shows that it flips from time to time, with the south pole becoming the north, and vice versa.” The Greenland Space Science Symposium had gone on record that “the signs” are that another flip is coming soon. “Just when the magnetic field will flip is impossible to predict from what is known at the moment…”

“Is Global Warming a Sin?” asked Alexander Cockburn in the May 14, 2007 issue of The Nation magazine. The Roman Catholic Church once sold indulgences like checks. The sinners thereby established a line of credit against bad behavior and could go on sinning. Later, circa 2007, a world market in “carbon credits” was in formation. “The modern trade is as fantastical as the medieval one.” Carbon trafficking was just like the old indulgences.
