Pakistani Election Fraud

In the aftermath of the Benazir Bhutto assassination, startling allegations were brought to light, including election fraud in Pakistan.

Thus reads the description for my latest video, “Pakistani Election Fraud”, published to YouTube on August 23, 2016. The clip, which clocks in at 7 minutes and 57 seconds, can hopefully be viewed at the top of today’s blog entry.

In the immediate aftermath of the Benazir Bhutto assassination of December 27, 2007, a flurry of “conspiracy theories” about the Pakistani Prime Minister and her assassination appeared. (Background: Remembering Benazir Bhutto, Ersjdamoo’s Blog, August 20, 2016.) [1]

Here are a few more of the Bhutto “conspiracy theories”, including a doozie about possible Pakistani election fraud.

  • On January 2, 2008, India Daily reported that the Pakistani ISI possessed a new arsenal to be used for attacking Indian installations secretly from Europe. Reported Chetan Cahuhan for India Daily, “It is a laser based pin pointed weapon system that can pierce through the skull and the bones and cause death instantaneously.” A section of Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was claiming she was targeted with sophisticated “laser beam technology.” The larger question was, Who had given Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf the secret Laser based weapon system that can be used to assassinate world personalities?
  • An intriguing comment appeared around this time. In “Assassination humbles Washington”, author William Gibson, Washington correspondent for the Sun Sentinel and the Orlando Sentinel, wrung his hands and sighed about the whole Benazir Bhutto thing. To this however, a commenter adjoined, “Oh please we all know why she was killed! She admitted the truth that Osama bin Laden had been Killed! So they had to finish her off incase [sic] she’d slip again!” Osama bin Laden had been famously “killed” in 2011, however Bhutto having said Bin Laden was already dead back in 2007 casts doubt upon the famous 2011 death.
  • In the realm of stolen elections, Reuters reported on January 1, 2008 that a top aide had stated, “Benazir Bhutto was poised to reveal proof that Pakistan’s election commission and shadowy spy agency were seeking to rig an upcoming general election the night she was assassinated.” Reporting for Reuters, Simon Gardner revealed that “Senator Latif Khosa, who authored a 160-page dossier with Bhutto documenting rigging tactics, said they ranged from intimidation to fake ballots, and were in some cases unwittingly funded by U.S. aid.” Reportedly, Bhutto had been due to give the report to two visiting U.S. lawmakers (not named) over dinner on December 27, the day she was killed. Among several fraudulent techniques, Khosa claimed that the Pakistani ISI (Inter-Intelligence Services) had a “mega computer” which could hack into any computer and was connected to the Election Commission’s system.
  • Conspiracy theories about “what really happened” to Benazir Bhutto “have multiplied faster than the plot lines in an Oliver Stone film,” wrote Reuben F. Johnson for The Weekly Standard on January 3, 2008. “We are back in Dallas again. Bhutto is JFK and the number of ‘grassy knolls’ keeps increasing by the moment,” said one intelligence official. The names of the two visiting U.S. lawmakers to whom Bhutto was prepared to hand over election rigging documents, not named in the above Reuters report, are given by Weekly Standard as Sen. Arlen Specter and Rep. Patrick Kennedy. “Reportedly,” wrote Reuben F. Johnson, “ISI has a safe house in Islamabad stuffed full of advanced computer hardware that would be used to hack into the network for the Pakistani Central Election Commission and manipulate the results.”
