On Mars there had been a devastating war between the men and the women. The men lost, and the women ruled. Thereafter, the males declined until the devil girl from Mars decided to journey to Earth and bring back healthy males to Mars. She explained to an Earth woman at a quaint Scottish inn that the women on Earth had not yet become “emancipated.” This happened in the 1950s, and thereafter the insidious feminism took root.
Thus reads the description for my latest video, “Devil Girl From Mars”, published to YouTube on September 12, 2016. The clip, which clocks in at 7 minutes and 54 seconds, can hopefully be viewed at the top of today’s blog entry.
The movie, Devil Girl From Mars (directed by David MacDonald), appeared in 1954. Some selected clips are included in my video. Among these is one containing these words stated to curious sojourners at a remote Scottish inn:
Explained the devil girl: “Many of your Earth-years ago, our women were similar to yours [Earth’s] today. Our emancipation took several hundred years. It ended in a bitter, devastating war between the sexes, the last war we ever had.”
“All inhabited planets have had wars,” continued the devil girl. “Some have ended by wiping themselves out… After the war of the sexes, women became the rulers of the planet. But now the male has fallen into a decline.”
Other hints of the then-incipient feminism are found in Cat-Women of the Moon (1953) and Mesa of Lost Women (1953). In the first, “We have no use for men,” says one of the cat-women to a mind-controlled convert to the cult. In the second, spider men are all shown as dwarves, while the spider women are of normal height and clearly occupy a superior role. In the insect kingdom, the males are “puny, and of little worth,” we are told. Hinted at is that this is (or ought to be) the natural order of things.
Maybe feminism was not all bad, once upon a time. However at this point it has become the Establishment. On Mars, after the war of the sexes, women became the rulers of the planet. Here, the oppressed have become the oppressors. The men are taught to be stoic, to “take it like a man.” This makes them easy prey for the man-hating, emasculating devil girls of the feminist cult.
