Lame Stories From Parkland

Every big tragedy deserves a good conspiracy tale. In the Parkland Valentine’s Day Massacre of February 14, 2018, we have aspects of the Hindu deity: There are SHIVA, the destroyer and BRAHMA, the creator.

Shiva the destroyer is represented by alleged shooter Nikolas Cruz. Brahma the creator is represented by the ensuing folklore which follows such horrifying events.

But the folklore coming out of the Parkland incident is mostly pretty lame. Trying not to take sides, I merely point out that the Democrats are not in touch with Brahma in their Parkland narratives. That is to say, they keep telling the same story about evil guns. It is like watching the X-Files over and over. At first it is interesting. But have you ever tried watching the same X-Files over and over? I have, and let me tell you even the X-Files can get boring after awhile.

On the other side we have the Republicans, somewhat more inventive but still, in the Parkland folklore, caught in a cul-de-sac: “Crisis actors” is the re-run story emerging. An aide to a Florida lawmaker was fired after falsely suggesting that student survivors of the mass shooting in Parkland were “actors”. [1] That is not Brahma – not creative – since it only repeats folklore first created by Professor James Tracy after the Newtown/Sandy Hook incident.

My point is that victims of the Parkland incident deserve more than re-runs. They deserve Brahma – something new and creative – to counter-balance the forces of Shiva. Sorry to toot my own horn here, but I at least have come up with something different: that the FBI has been experiencing an existential crisis due to its not having a charter. Maybe its not a great story, but at least it’s not a re-run. (Background: Existential Crisis at FBI, Ersjdamoo’s Blog, February 20, 2018.)
