Starved For Entertainment

The Three Amigos thought it was just a show. After they chased off the three henchmen of El Guapo, the people of the little village of Santo Poco went wild. “Wow, they must be really starved for entertainment here,” remarked one of the Amigos.

Something called “Game of Thrones” has ended. “News” reports thundered about “withdrawal symptoms” suffered by fans of the show. (Ersjdamoo has never bothered to watch it.)

Downton Abbey was another of these shows which “everyone” was watching. Earlier, The Sopranos was the “must see.” Somebody’s got you on their treadmill, mate, sang Midnight Oil.

Somebody’s got you on their treadmill, mate. Another of the big shows is the ongoing Hate and Love of Trump. Fans are engaged, rooting for one side or another.

Really great entertainment was provided in the mid-1970s by the soap opera spoof, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. A spin-off from that show was Fernwood 2 Night, a parody talk show set in the mythical town of Fernwood, Ohio. After one season of Fernwood, the producers revamped the show the following year as America 2-Night. [1]

The Mary Hartman Story, a mass market paperback by Daniel Lockwood, reportedly gives behind the scenes info and muses on Mary Hartman’s cultural impact. [2]

Offering behind the scenes info and musings for Hate and Love of Trump, French author Thierry Meyssan says the US Press is spreading a false narrative of the events in Venezuela and the rise of tension between Washington and Teheran. According to Meyssan, President Donald Trump negotiated his political survival with the deep state. A “Rumsfeld/Cebrowski plan” was agreed to in exchange for Special Persecutor Robert Mueller letting Trump off the hook. [3]

Behind the scenes info on Louise Lasser, who played Mary Hartman, is that she was married to Woody Allen from 1966 to 1970. [4] Theorized is that the character Annie Hall, in the Woody Allen film from 1977, is based on Louise Lasser.
