Captured Mercenaries Have POW Status?

Battle Destroys More Lives In Mariupol (We could Not Save Her Life)

Patrick Lancaster, independent crowd-funded journalist, reports from Mariupol, in the video hopefully viewable above. Another of the independents reporting from Ukrainian hot spots is Graham Phillips.

Meanwhile, as of April 19th, Good Morning America (GMA) has demoted the Ukraine war from lead story to third place, preceded by mask mandate news and storm/snow news. Will the “news” be tip-toeing away from Ukraine? Does this mean Russia has achieved its goal of securing a warm water sea port? On April 10th, an “intel bit” arrived at BattleForWorld: in one and a half weeks time, to two weeks, they predicted, the war in Ukraine will come to an end. [1][2]

It can’t end soon enough. But General Mark Milley has predicted the Ukraine conflict will be measured in years. [3]

Besides Aiden Aslin, another soldier of fortune has been captured by the Russians: Shaun Pinner. “The Russians will treat us differently if we are captured because we are British,” Pinner had earlier stated. [4] Are Aslin and Pinner protected by the Geneva Convention? It defines prisoners of war to include members of militias and members of volunteer corps, “including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory…” [5]

However Sorcha Faal (pseudonym) reports, “The Russians claim they have captured a large number of Western mercenaries in Mariupol and their fate is not sunny. Because the Russians do not consider them legitimate combatants they will not be treated according to the Geneva Convention.” [6]

  1. Since when has Russia ever treated captured POW’S by Geneva Convention rules? Ask the Wehrmacht soldiers about that. The Russian military is steeped in brutality and operated by bolshevik principles dating back more than a century… Off to the gulag with them, their capture will never be reported and they will die in Siberia in some forgotten, frozen hell-hole. Since these combatants were fighting for a foreign power and captured on foreign soil, they should be protected by international law- however, it is unlikely that anyone will speak up for them.
